TO ENROLL -
Students that are new to the district and will be attending Shepherd High School will need to have the following information in order to register. Parent or legal guardian must be present with the student.
Students enrolling in grades 9 though 12 need to bring the following:
Students that are new to the district and will be attending Shepherd High School will need to have the following information in order to register. Parent or legal guardian must be present with the student.
Students enrolling in grades 9 though 12 need to bring the following:
- Birth certificate
- Social Security Card
- Updated Shot Records
- Proof of current residency- Must have physical address (Utility bill, tax receipt, 911 letter, lease agreement, rent receipt, voting registration, etc). All items must be current. No P.O. Box addresses will be accepted as proof.
- Copy of Driver’s License of person enrolling student
- Students that are new to the district need to bring final report card or a transcript from previous school.
TO WITHDRAW -
A student under 18 may be withdrawn from school only by a
parent/guardian (preferably the person who enrolled). The school requests notice from the parent/guardian at least one hour in advance so that records and documents may be prepared. The parent/guardian must come to the school to sign paperwork. Student needs to have turned in all books & be cleared in library & cafeteria.
A student who is 18 or older (before the beginning of the school year), who is married, or who has been declared by a court to be an emancipated minor may withdraw without parental signature.

Step 1: If a student is found to have 3 or more unexcused absences for all or part days within a 4 week period, the student must meet with a campus administrator at which time a truancy prevention contract is started and must be signed by the parent, administrator, and student.
Step 2: If a student is found to have 5 or more unexcused absences for all or part days, the student must meet with the campus counselor and a plan of action will be taken for behavior improvement. The student must partake in either school or private counseling and attend Saturday school or after school tutorials (to be determined by counselor) and the contract must be signed by the parent, campus counselor, and the student.
Step 3: If a student is found to have 8 or more absences for all or part days, the student must meet with the campus officer and 8 hours of community service or Saturday school will be assigned (to be determined by officer) and the contract must be signed by the parent, officer, and student.
Step 4: If a student is found to have 10 or more unexcused absences for all or part days within a 6 month period and the first 3 steps have been met by the school district, the parent or guardian may be referred to truancy court.
